Putnam logo

The Putnam Museum of History and Natural Science provides a unique multi-sensory experience. The major exhibits focuses on the last 12,000 years of history in the region; there are also presentations on ancient Egypt and the Orient, and changing exhibits that range from North American Indians to space exploration. The museum also includes a 270-seat IMAX Theatre.

The Quad City Botanical Center offers a 6,444 square foot tropical Sun Garden conservatory, outdoor Conifer & Perennial Gardens, a beautiful Butterfly Garden, and a Children's Scrambled Alphabet Garden.

Black Hawk State Historic Site logo

Black Hawk State Historic Site is on 208-acres of wooded, rolling land bordering the Rock River. Prehistoric Indians and nineteenth-century settlers made their homes here, but the area is most closely identified with Saukenuk Village, formed by the Sauk Tribe. It was the largest American Indian settlement in North America. The great Sauk warrior-leader Black Hawk was a famous member of the tribe.

The Celebration Belle riverboat cruises are great for the whole family. This luxury ship cruises the Mississippi River year round, offering passengers the chance to travel the river the way people did a century ago, and to see the area from a unique perspective.

The Figge Art Museum is a 100,000 sq.ft. museum that includes special exhibitions and a permanent collection of over 3,500 works from the 15th century to the present, with highlighted collections of Haitian, Mexican Colonial and American Regionalist art.

John Deere Attractions - Experience a unique and exciting look at the past, present and future of agribusiness - from vintage farm equipment and historic homes to the latest in manufacturing technology. The John Deere Commons is the site of the John Deere Pavilion agriculture exhibit, as well as numerous retail shops and restaurants. The John Deere Store is a specialty retail shop with a variety of unique John Deere merchandise. And children can enjoy an interactive play area with scale-model farm toys and games.  

Channel Cat logo

Channel Cat Water Taxi - Explore the Quad Cities area without ever having to set foot in an automobile - aboard the Channel Cat Water Taxi! This open-air boat stops at different boat landings on both the Iowa and Illinois banks of the Mississippi River. The Channel Cat returns every hour to take passengers back and forth across the river.

Rock Island Arsenal logo

Rock Island Arsenal established in 1862, supplied the Union Army with arms. The island was home to the Rock Island Prison Barracks - a Confederate prison camp. The arsenal has been an active manufacturer of military equipment and ordnance since the 1880s. Today it is home to the largest government-owned munitions plant in the country. The arsenal's museum is the US Army's second oldest museum, and features the largest collections of small firearms used in battle - from Little Bighorn to Desert Storm. Also on the Arsenal grounds is the confederate and national cemetery, and the Colonel Davenport Historic Home.
