Dinner Parties

We would like you to consider hosting dinner parties in honor of your GSD-affected family member, & other people who suffer from GSD.

The idea is to have small to large dinner parties all across the United States, and abroad. As a host, you would invite as many or few guests (as you’d like) into your home for dinner.

Inform your guests that the dinner is a benefit for Glycogen Storage Disease and that you would like them to make a contribution toward research in the name of your GSD-affected family member. The donation is based on how much an evening would cost if your guests were to go out to a restaurant and order the dinner you are serving.

Be as creative as you like. Your party could be as simple as a backyard barbecue, or as fancy as a gourmet meal using your fine china and silver!

Here is a sample invitation [that included a photograph]:

For the love of “Trevor”...

Pictured above is our “son”, “Trevor ___”. “Trevor” was born “February X, 20XX” and appeared to be a perfectly healthy baby. At 8 months of age, “Trevor” became ill and required multiple hospitalizations and almost died. He was diagnosed with Glycogen Storage Disease which means that he is missing a liver enzyme that breaks down glycogen. This results in a host of problems including organ damage, growth problems and low blood sugar. His blood sugar must be constantly monitored and maintained by feeding him every 2-4 hours through a tube in his stomach. GSD is rare and research dollars are scarce. We are hoping to raise money to fund research towards effective treatment and ultimately a cure.

Please come to our home on “February 14” for dinner at 7 p.m. We appreciate any support you can give.

Please make your checks payable to The Association for Glycogen Storage Disease.
